Player of the Week
Wayde Egan (Penrith Panthers)
Named on the bench in our Team of the Week last round, Egan earns starting honours and the Player of the Week award after playing an outstanding role in Penrith’s come from behind draw against Cronulla. After setting up two tries earlier, Egan scored from dummy half  to give Dean Blore a conversion to the tie the game, which he kicked. The Lithgow junior racked up 27 tackles, 2 line breaks, 5 tackle breaks and kicked for 132 metres, as his side stayed in first spot on the ladder.

Rookie of the Week
Murray Taulagi (North Queensland Cowboys)
After making his NYC debut last weekend, Taulagi regained his spot for Round 7 and then showed why, with a brilliant performance on the wing in the Cowboys’ 40-6 win over the Dragons, scoring twice and running for 226 metres. The younger brother of former Queensland Red Jamie-Jerry Taulagi, Murray is a rugby union convert from Brisbane State High, who stated after the game on cowboys.com.au that this was probably only his fifth game of rugby league. Impressive.
