Western Mustangs’ halfback Cory Paix was named Mal Meninga Cup Player of the Year after steering his side to the under-18 premiership.

Paix, who represented Queensland under-18 this year, was also the competition’s top point scorer with 114 points (6 tries, 45 goals) and made his FOGS Colts Challenge debut later in the season.

Hard working Sunshine Coast Falcons’ prop Stephen Buckley was rewarded with the FOGS Colts Challenge Player of the Year award.

Like Braun, Buckley and the Falcons will participate in the finals series this weekend, facing the Easts Tigers.
