Sharks win first Jersey Flegg title

Cronulla have won their maiden Jersey Flegg Cup premiership after defeating Penrith 22-12 at Leichhardt Oval.

The scores were locked at 12-all heading into the final 20 minutes before two second half tries to the Sharks gave them a lead they would hold until full time.

Sharks’ halfback Braydon Trindall, who scored the game sealing try, was named Man of the Match.

Cronulla Sharks 22 (Isaac Lumelume, Harry Smith, Braydon Trindall, Bronson Xerri tries; Braydon Trindall 3 goals) def. Penrith Panthers 12 (Daine Laurie, John Trimboli tries; Brendan Hands 2 goals) at Leichhardt Oval.
